SPEs are outstanding middle and senior leaders who have specialist knowledge and leadership experience of at least two years in a particular field. Designation is awarded through a training process by the Pan Enfield Alliance and Connect Teaching School Alliance.
SPEs work outside their own schools to develop leadership skills in others, so that they are then able to lead their own teams and improve best practice in their own environments. The services they provide would be tailored to the individual need but may include: one to one support; facilitated group support; analysis into strengths and weaknesses of areas for improvement; sharing of successful best practice.
